Community Football Without Barriers

Oxford is a strong rural community that we are proud to be part of and celebrate. As with any community, we have a rich diversity of cultures, family structures, abilities and fitness levels. Whilst our Club Policies outline the manner in which the club is to promote inclusion and prevent discrimination of any kind within our operations, we strive to go much further than that. By not only breaking down all forms of financial, social, cultural, physical, health and emotional barriers for membership to Oxford FC, but to also seek to listen to our community and make positive changes where needed so that everyone has the opportunity and right to community sport regardless of their personal, cultural or social circumstances.

As part of these values, Oxford Football Club is proud to support the Football For All Program within Mainland Football. Whilst primarily focused within Christchurch, FFA is aimed at engaging with whānau of refugee and immigrant backgrounds that have newly arrived to our region. The FFA program uses football as a vehicle to foster a sense of haurora, belonging and inclusion for the tamariki and whānau by removing barriers to accessing organized football, as well as giving individual support for those involved. We at Oxford FC feel that this program aligns perfectly with our Community Football Without Barriers and Free Kids Football NZ philosophy and hope to directly contribute to the program in the near future.
