MINI FOOTBALL (Ages 9-10)

Mini Football is our COMPLETELY FREE program for developing core football skills for players turning 9-10 years. Oxford Football Club joins with other Mainland Football Clubs to deliver a program which focuses on introducing competitive football in a supportive and encouraging environment. Midweek training sessions compliment the technical development of the players.

Both mixed and Girls teams are available.

COST:

2024 season - $FREE (Donations are welcomed)

LOCATIONS:

Home games are held at Pearson Park, Burnett Street, Oxford (Oxford A&P Showground Fields - Yellow Highlighted area in the map below). Please Park on Burnett Street and walk on the footpath through Pearson Park. DO NOT PARK ON THE SHOWGROUND SITE.

Away games are generally in Christchurch, but can occasionally be further afield, depending on the participating clubs in the league. Car Pooling is usually organised by the parents of the players.

WHEN: Saturday mornings. 10th Grade (9.30am), 9th Grade (10.30am)

Winter Season starts Saturday 27th April 2023 with the final weekend for the season in early September. There are no sessions on Kings Birthday, or the 13th July.

PRACTICE: Coach will set a day for practice during the week.

INFORMATION:

Games following the NZ Football Whole of Football curriculum.
The club provides a team shirt which is numbered and allocated to players.
If the correct shirt is not returned (in reasonable condition) at the end of the season then the player WILL NOT be able to register for another football season with any New Zealand Club until it is returned, or purchased from Oxford FC.
Players provide their own black shorts, boots, shin pads and socks, which are all available (except Boots) through the club online store. CLICK HERE to go to the store.
Please remember to take a named drink bottle to sessions.
Boots (no metal studs) are recommended.
Shin pads are COMPULSORY
There is no requirement for a mouthguard for football.
Junior Football may be cancelled due to ground conditions if it is deemed unsafe due to heavy rain or cold conditions. Cancellations will be listed on the Facebook page, Club App and via team coaches/managers.
